Welcome

Welcome!

My name is Ardun and I’d like to welcome you to my site. Primarily this is a travel blog site where you will find articles, tips and reviews on destinations from all over the world. Most travel sites are named something related to travel, you know “nomadic elephant” or “wandering retiree” or something of this nature. While this works for most travel bloggers I decided to stick to my name instead as this site offers more than just travel articles. This site also acts as a hub for ordering my fine art photography and my books so I thought it best to keep it simple for people to find me.

Finding your way around this site is relatively easy, just use the drop down menus at the top of each page. You will find Guest Interviews, Weekly Inspiration, Destinations, Travel Tips, Book News and my Photographic library and Shop where you can order canvas prints.

A bit about myself

Ardun Ward

I live in Perth, Western Australia with my wife Jen. We caught the travel bug in 2010 when we packed up our home and set off on a 6 month drive through Canada and the US. Travelling in an ’83 Dodge Ram camper we parked for free through most of the US in beach car parks and Walmart supermarkets. While away we realised how much we both love nature and the freedom of travel. So when we returned I decided to write a book about it. You can read the first four chapters on Amazon and download it for only $2.99 here: Boon Dockers Book.

After the US trip I returned to my old job in Northwest WA but just couldn’t shake the feeling I wasn’t doing what I loved, so in the past year created this site and began blogging about travel and pursuing my other passion, photography. Jen and I have continued to travel between work and in 2012 explored parts of Europe, Egypt, Dubai and a bit of our own backyard.

This year of travel is even more exciting with both of us quitting our jobs once more and packing our lives into small (and large) backpacks. This year we set off at the end of March and aim to be nomads for the rest of the year exploring Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Central and South America. My goal is to bring you more inspiring travel photos and stories from these destinations and help you decide on where it is you most want to explore. Also, along the way if there are any travel questions you have or new suggestions for my site and what you want to see then please get n contact either in the comments section, Facebook page or via my email [email protected] My goal is to make this site as user friendly, entertaining and comprehensive as possible so don’t be shy. 🙂

Now! Where do you want to go first?

Happy travels!

Ardun Ward

P.S. Feel free to ad this image and any of my others to your Facebook page, friends, Pinterest etc. All I ask is that you leave my web address on it. Thanks.

  1. Josh here from the BlinkPack blog. Thanks for stopping by. I too am 31 and am wondering if you face challenges (as I do) that keep you from traveling and adventuring. If so, looks like you are finding ways around them. Well done! Looking forward to following your journeys. Cheers!

    • Hi Josh, thanks also for stopping by. I’m still figuring out how I can travel and get paid at the same time. Until I perfect that, I just continue to save like crazy and get away whenever I can.
Feel free to share any secrets 🙂

      • Hi Ardun,

I think that the secret to getting paid while travelling is not much of a secret – hard work. The only difference from the “normal” life is that you change the working environment very often and most of your work is in front of a laptop. The most important thing to know about it, is to start as early as possible and get serious about blogging from the start. Your blog can earn you a living, like it does in our case, but there’s a lot of sacrifices (fortunately, they come with rewards).

I know that what I said is not too specific, so if you want to know more, don’t hesitate to contact me via etramping.com

        Good luck,
        Cez

  3. Hi Ardun,
I am Alok Akhauri from New Delhi, India. Me and my wife also love travelling and meeting good people and we also welcome friendly guests from across the world to see our country. Do let me know if you have a plan to explore India? Some pf your snaps (on your web) are simply intriguing and captivating.
    Good luck and God Speed!
    Alok.

    • Hi Alok, Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind offer. My wife and I have no immediate plans to visit India but it is definitely on my list. You never know what might happen though, we could end up there sooner than we expect. Keep in touch and I will do the same 🙂
