Life in Costa Rica

Costa Rica

Just rolling through town

Today I want to show you some shots which express the everyday life in Cost Rica. So many times we get caught up in the beautiful scenery, shiny cities, fancy restaurants or hardcore adventure stuff a country has to offer and forget about the fact it is like any other place. By that I mean it is full of everyday things, people, places which tick along almost unnoticed. These are the things though that ultimately shape the way we feel and perceive a country and make up our mind as to whether we like it or not.

These small shops are found all over

I loved Costa Rica for its beaches, sunsets, forests, wildlife and adventure sports but I also like it for what these shots show. Everyday life, people waiting for buses, the small shops, the humble homes and the crazy buses themselves! I hope you enjoy this series of photos which I think show all the little things which helped make Costa Rica a favourite place of mine.

The 'chicken bus' is always a welcomed sight.

I hope this post gave you a little ‘behind the scenes’ look at life in Costa Rica.

  1. Looking forward to seeing heaps more of your photos Ardz. I’m an armchair traveller at the moment – hoping that will change in 2014. Jill

    • Yeah got some time now to go through them and put some more posts up. I think I will be joining you as an armchair traveller for much of the next year too. 🙂

  2. Ah, how I miss Costa Rica!

Everything seems to be just easy going, peaceful, tranquil there 😉

I can close my eyes and feel myself transported to the Rich Coast.

Beautiful pics Ardun & I sure love the one of la tiendita, the small convenience store. It’s eye candy 😉

    Happy travels

    Kay

    • Yeah it’s a great country and I just loved those tiendas, always something interesting going on in them.

  3. I’ve never been to Costa Rica but it looks like quite the adventure! 😛

    • It was great Michelle! As was Nicaragua, great beaches, nature and wildlife.
