Photography at Brookfield Place
Last week I posted a photo of my city at night on the Facebook page and told you something exciting was happening. The exciting news came to me when I was approached by Emma Tearne the marketing manager for a stylish new district of Perth City, Brookfield Place.
Brookfield Place is a fairly new district in our city which has many new restaurants and bars among new office space and access to the Esplanade train station. Print Hall is also part of the area and was formerly the old Newspaper House of Perth, which now contains new cafes, bars and fine dining. Brookfield Place also holds regular cultural and art exhibitions and is committed to giving Perth’s up and coming talent a place to shine.
This is the part where I am privileged to be involved. Emma approached me with a project idea to replace some old photography in the newsagent in the shopping square of Brookfield Place. My brief was to take photos from around our state and city, to fill a number of photo boxes surrounding the shop front. The shop receives hundreds of commuters daily as they make their way to the Esplanade train station, so for me to have my work on display to so many people in my home town is something I would never have dreamed of.
At this stage, the photos are being printed and once they are up I will post some more photos of them in the shop and review some of the great places in Brookfield Place. I would like to thank Emma Tearne and Brookfield Place for this incredible opportunity and share their website for anyone interested in heading down there. Visit brookfieldplaceperth.com
Here’s a look at the entire collection. I hope you will enjoy them and feel free to let me know which ones are your favourites, I’m always interested to know what peoples taste is.
