Travel Plans 2013

Map update

With only 12 days until we set off on another epic road trip, I thought I would give you a quick update of the travel plans for the rest of 2013.

Our first stop after flying out of Perth on the 28th March will be Dubai. Here we will more than likely kick back in a luxurious hotel for a night, smoking shisha and swimming in the pool before heading to Amman, Jordan where we will begin our tour of Jordan and Israel.

Jen and I are really looking forward to this tour which will take us to the Dead Sea, the Rose city of Petra and the biblical sites of Jerusalem and Bethlehem in Israel. After about 12 days on tour we will be cut loose and travel on our own to Turkey where we are excited to spend Anzac Day and explore the Bazaars of Istanbul.

With a couple of weeks in Turkey, we will then take a ferry cruise of the Greek Islands before exploring and flying out of Athens, Greece.

From Athens, we will fly to Lima, Peru where will be joined by my mum and my aunty for the 4 day hike to Machu Picchu. I’m sure this will provide some incredible photo opportunities, both of the ruins and my more than likely ‘ruined’ mother after 4 days of hiking. 🙂

Plans after the Inca Trail are left almost wide open but will involve travelling through the rest of South America heading south first and working our way up to Central America and planning on travelling until early January.

As we carry on with our adventure I will keep you updated on any new plans. Until then, sit back and enjoy the travel porn coming your way 🙂

Also if any of you have a must see of favourite place in any of the countries I’ve mentioned, please let me know in the comments so I don’t miss out.

  1. Very cool travel plans! Especially the Middle East. I grew up in Kuwait and my grandmother is Palestinian from Betlehem, so I have a strong connection to that world region 🙂

    • That’s really cool Miret! You sure have spent some time all over the world 🙂 We can’t wait to see all of it. BUsy packing as we speak

  2. Sounds very exciting Ardun and I’m quite envious. I was blown away by Petra, such a wonderful must see place. I look forward to your report on Jordan. Also, if you are on a bus tour in Jordan look out for all the locals in the country side who come out of their houses so they can wave to you as you drive by.

    • Thanks Guy, that sounds awesome, I hope we get to see the locals do that too. Petra has been on the list for sometime, it’s good to hear you had a great experience. I’ll be sure to take some great photos 🙂

    • Thanks 🙂 I can’t wait!

  3. Let the race begin!

    • That’s it Jill 🙂 The race is on! I’ll send you a photo 🙂
